For many years, an experienced team of pediatric surgeons, pediatric orthopedists, and plastic surgeons has been traveling to Ifunda Province in Tanzania to treat children with congenital and acquired malformations of organs and limbs.
In 2015, ARCHEMED launched its first project against female genital mutilation. Since then, the project has been continuously continued with at least two missions per year until the Corona pause and the death of the Eritrean project partner in 2023.
At the “International Operation Centre for Children in Asmara” (IOCCA), ARCHEMED surgical teams treat conditions in virtually all paediatric surgical specialties. Treatment for children at the IOCCA is free of charge.
