Since the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine began in February 2022, ARCHEMED has been supporting various children’s hospitals in Lviv, Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Zaporizhzhia at regular intervals with medications and consumables. Through this, ARCHEMED aims to provide fast and efficient help to children, especially newborns and premature babies.
Current needs are communicated to us through direct contact with those responsible in the Ukrainian clinics. Most of these are very specific pharmaceuticals and medical equipment for premature babies and sick newborns. However, ventilators, cribs, surgical instruments, or a defibrillator were also urgently needed and were purchased by us and sent to the hospitals.

The local project team reviews the requirements, places the orders, and coordinates the transport to the recipients. Some deliveries, especially at the beginning of the emergency aid, were brought by us to the Polish-Ukrainian border, where the relief supplies were then handed over to a Ukrainian colleague and taken directly to the children’s hospitals. Later deliveries were transported directly to the clinics with the financial and logistical support of action medeor e. V.
Furthermore, we collaborate with other organizations (“Aktion Kleiner Prinz, Internationale Hilfe für Kinder in Not e. V.”, Aachen Fire Department) and supply the destroyed cities with ambulances, various equipment and supplies, disinfectants, and large-scale equipment such as emergency power generators.
