The “Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)” in Asmara has been supported and accompanied twice a year since 2015 by an ARCHEMED team, consisting of pediatric intensive care nurses and, since 2018, also a pediatric cardiologist.

As early as 2010, ARCHEMED assisted in the establishment of a neonatal care unit at the referral hospital and has since supported this project through the training of nursing staff and doctors as well as the improvement of infrastructure.
